Sound

The vibrating of particles in the air, a dangerous visceral thing.

Sound connects us to the physical world, keeps us in the present, and intrudes. Though sight is often thought of as the primary sense, it is always at a distance. Sound allows no such distance. It is no surprise the US military uses sound as a form of torture.
